Otto, together with the architect, presented to the campus design and construction costs that were $1.5 million under budget. With these savings, CSU Chico was able to add additional scope and facility enhancements. The building achieved LEED Gold certification and sustainable features implemented into the design and construction include 10 electric vehicle charging stations, high efficiency lighting, rooftop solar panels, recycled and regional construction materials, low-emitting VOC paints and coatings, and storm water treatment using a bio-filtration system.
