Phase one built a new school campus for 175 transitional kindergarten through third grade students. Sitting on 9.5 acres, the new campus consists of three modular classroom buildings, an administration building and student center with a library totaling 32,642SF. The 230,000SF of site work included two blacktops and three play structures, a parking lot, and separate student drop-off locations for school busses and parents. Classrooms contain furniture that can easily be moved to reconfigure the layout, a large moveable monitor, and document cameras. The three kindergarten classrooms are connected with a hallway containing restrooms and storage space, and have a separate play structure. The first through third grade classrooms are connected with a movable partition that creates a shared collaboration space between two classrooms. The student center contains a large collection of physical books and e-books as well as flexible seating and tables. The state-of-the-art learning environment allows teachers to focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) education and use a variety of computer applications and web-based learning programs. Phase two will add fourth through sixth grade classrooms and a multi-purpose room to reach the school’s 400-student capacity.
