The CSU Chico campus saw the need for an expansion of their existing 13,000 square foot central utility plant to provide increased service capacity. A new 5,700 square foot addition was built immediately adjacent to the existing building to house a new chiller, two boilers, a refrigeration machine room and associated equipment. Space was also created and infrastructure was put in place for a second future chiller. The project included the installation of a second 1.4 million gallon Thermal Energy Storage Tank and a new Cooling Tower. Site improvements included selective demolition, grading, utilities, mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment, fire apparatus equipment access, and perimeter fencing.
