Over the summer, our team celebrated the completion and dedication of the Hamilton, Ellis & Martin Plaza, formerly known as the Del Monte Manor. Originally built in 1968, the 192-unit apartment complex was renovated from the ground up. The collaboration between Terrex, TerraCorp, Inc., and the Paul Davis Partnership made it possible for work to continue and stay on schedule despite the unprecedented pandemic. Our team used a rotational process to avoid displacing any of the residents. This meant residents took turns moving to empty units while their apartments were renovated. Due to COVID-19, our team held daily check-ins with field staff, documented who was on site each day, spaced out work to allow for social distancing, limited close contact with residents, and provided the necessary PPE and sanitation stations. The interior and exterior renovation of all 23 residential buildings was completed in 2020. In addition, the community center, main office, laundry facilities and outdoor gathering areas were also renovated, and a new community garden was built.
