Founded in Sacramento in 1947, Otto Construction is a family-owned, woman-owned commercial general contractor serving clients throughout Northern and Central California from offices in Sacramento and Monterey. What began with our founder John F. Otto’s vision to build a company rooted in skilled professionals, quality craftsmanship, and lasting relationships has grown into one of Northern California’s largest woman-owned general contractors.

In 1971, second-generation leader Carl Otto became President, carrying forward the company’s commitment to building exceptional projects while strengthening its ties to the Sacramento community through philanthropy and service. In 2000, third-generation leader Allison Otto joined the company, established its marketing department, and in 2021 became President & CEO, continuing the family’s legacy of innovation, collaboration, and client-focused leadership.

Today, Otto Construction is recognized as one of ENR’s Top 400 Contractors and was named ENR California’s 2022 Contractor of the Year. Otto is also Sacramento’s largest woman-owned business and the fourth largest contractor in the region. We deliver award-winning education, civic, healthcare, senior living, commercial, and public infrastructure projects while remaining guided by the same principles established nearly 80 years ago: honesty, integrity, and compassion for others.
