Otto Construction was honored to be recognized by AGC of California with the Constructor Award for projects under $40 million. The award was received for our team’s performance on the $37 million modernization of San Juan Unified School District’s Greer Elementary School. Delivered via Design-Build with Nacht & Lewis, the K-5 school was completely renovated while remaining occupied for the entire construction period. The project was divided into seven phases that adhered to a strict schedule with hard turnover dates that could not be missed. Temporary housing was used while existing classrooms were being renovated. This project rotated the school 90 degrees on its site and features three new buildings housing 16 classrooms, an administration building, and multi-purpose room twice the size of the original one. Two existing buildings containing 12 classrooms were heavily modernized to complement the new construction. This project was completed on time and all milestones were met.
