Project Description

Built in 1959, Cruess Hall is located in the campus core. The project consists of the renovation of the single-story, 17,000SF north west wing  to provide new multimedia classrooms, a new wood shop, new metal shop, and a  100 seat lecture hall.  The work will include new electrical, mechanical, controls and telecommunications system upgrades, code upgrades for access compliance, seismic improvements, hazardous material abatement, restroom replacement, fire alarm and fire sprinkler replacement, roof replacement and the addition of new skylights. Demolition and abatement of 5,000SF of the existing building will make room for new construction of 5,000SF for a new entry lobby and 250 seat lecture hall designed to accommodate a cinema and digital media program.

Demolition and abatement of a 2,000 square foot existing metal shop building that will remain occupied until the new shop facility is complete. Site work will include renovation of 15,000 square feet of the existing courtyard space including landscaping, irrigation, paving and the addition of new 300 bike racks.
